4/1/08 –   Praise the Lord for 370 pastors and leaders who gathered from all over the nation for the 2008 AALC last week!  It was a tremendous time of learning, worship, and fellowship.  Many affirmed our goal was achieved of helping to encourage and equip leaders who serve the Asian American community.

Limited Childcare available at the conference!  But you must contact Louis Lee ASAP (deadline is Wed, March 19) at!  Only children ages 2-6 will be accepted for a fee of $50 per child  (childcare only during the four general sessions and workshop times, please see schedule of conference).   Meals are included only for children accepted and paid for in this arrangement.   Please do not send payment until you have received confirmation of childcare from Louis Lee.

Praise the Lord for our speaker, DJ Chuang, who works for both L2 and Leadership Network.  (Please see DJ’s special note below with info on how you can listen to his talk from 9/26/07 as well as gain additional info on Asian American ministries nationwide.)  Praise the Lord for the encouraging time of small group sharing and praying together lead by Pastor Ken Fong.  Special thanks to the ECCU (Evangelical Christian Credit Union) for providing the lunch and to the Evergreen Baptist Church – LA for hosting this event.  

 The LA Gathering may become an annual event.  If you did not receive an email invitation, please send an email to and ask to be added to the LA Gathering email list.   The Gathering is an informal lunch meeting for Asian American leaders in the SoCal region.  This “GATHERING” was planned and conducted by the core planning team (for the 2008 Asian American Leadership Conference):  Tommy Dyo (Epic Movement, CCC), Louis Lee (MESA), Ben Shin (Talbot Seminary), Tom Steers (Asian American Ministries, The Navigators), and Ron Sugimoto (MESA board member).
